4 of My Favorite Locations for Engagement Sessions Near Coeur d’Alene, ID!

Its the season for proposals, which means those young Loves are looking for engagement session locations! So I just thought I would put together some of my favorite locations to explore that are all under 90 minutes of drive time from Post Falls, ID. Enjoy!

#1. Woops

Coffee shop sessions are definitely a growing trend especially when they can be in the most photographed Woops in the entire country! That’s right! Woops, the one we have right here in Coeur d’ Alene is the most photographed shop and we have it all to ourselves! Go get your snuggle on while eating 1… 2... no 3 macarons!

#2. Hog Lake Recreation Area

No one can deny that an open field with rolling hills in the background is one of the most gorgeous settings! Hog Lake Recreation is everything and more if you are up for running with your Love and popping some champagne to celebrate you two and your future together! Just be sure you pack out what you pack in!

#3. Snow Creek Falls

Woods & Waterfalls are always a favorite of mine and even more so when they are under a mile hike down a well cared for path. If you don’t mind the road trip to this gorgeous spot you will not be disappointed with the waterfall and pool at the bottom. Just remember to bring a pair of shoes to hike in and a towel if you are brave enough to jump in.

#4. Green Bluff & Surrounding Farms

This particular session was taken at Becks Harvest House in Colbert, WA. The best time to visit one of the Green Bluff farms to avoid thousands of people is during the week. If you can plan it on a day that is expectant to be rainy or overcast you can probably get away with being the only people there like we did.

Palo Duro Canyon | Texas

When I found out that we would be shooting a wedding in Oklahoma I just knew that we had to explore Texas! Little did I know that we would find the second largest canyon in the country and two of the sweetest souls to meet while there! Louis and Lindsey have been married for a little over 3 years but still have that honeymoon feel when they look at each other! I could not have asked for more adventurous thrill seekers than these two babes, I am seriously when I say that Lindsey went barefoot 90% of this shoot. Even through the jagged rocks and hot canyon dirt… this girl is a trooper (which I loved her for, thanks Lindsey). Thank you guys for exploring with us in the heat, taking the wrong trail at first, and for making our trip that much cooler!

The part that you don’t see are all the wonderful behind the scenes of me being viciously attacked by multiple horse flies. No joke….by the end of it both my legs were speckled with blood from the bites (about 30) from Palo Duro Canyon horse flies which apparently only liked me. Then to top it off I backed into a cactus with my leg and then on a separate but still very much related occasion my finger!!!! If you have not been stung by one of these cacti let me explain in short. Leg was poked… bled, went numb, and then went away after 10 minutes. Finger was poked… bled, went numb, and then ached for 3 hours before going away! While I wish Texas loved me…it definitely did not. But I truly miss it and all of its glory! Palo Duro Canyon I will see you again and I promise to come more prepared next time. ;)

Dan & Fallon’s wedding was nothing short of pure bliss! These two are the sweetest people with the most amazing hearts towards each other, friends, and family! We felt so honored that they chose us to tell their Story and to hang out with them for all the behind the scene moments. Timber River Ranch was such a magical place to have Mr. & Mrs. Anderson run through fields, snuggle by the river, and share a private dance in a hidden tree cathedral under strings of bistro lights. Cheers to you both, we cannot wait to see your future journeys together.

Mr. & Mrs. Mercado

Whats a wedding without elegance and a dash of rustic! These two cuties tied the knot in front of family and friends and gave it such a special touch of their relationship. One of my favorite things as being a photographer is that I get to see and hear the moments that most other people do not even know are happening. During their ceremony they read vows to just each other so that no-one else could hear, and while I won’t repeat anything that I heard (Bride & Groom to Photographer confidentiality, haha). I will tell you this… Brandi and Davin were made for each other, they compliment each other with the love in their eyes and in their hearts. It was an honor to be able to share the day with them and their guest! So here is to you Davy, hahaha…I apologize for squishing your names together for basically the whole day (I could not get it right for the life of me), you two are awesome, Congratulations, and we cannot wait to see where your journey leads you both!!

Carla & Jacob’s wedding was nothing short of simple, sweet, and full of pure joy! We were so honored that these two asked us to journey down to Oklahoma to tell their Love Story! As we anticipated the day to get on the plane we knew this wedding would be cherished in our hearts and be one of our favorites! Not only is Carla my Cousin-In-Law, but after getting to know her more and more over the years. She is absolutely hands down a young woman that I have come to love and respect so much! Without even meeting Jacob until we arrived I knew without a doubt that this man is special, kind, loving, and will cherish her heart forever! Jacob…you got a good one! Which I am sure you know! Love each other unconditionally, put God first, and go out and explore this crazy world with your forever soulmate!

Sarah & Wesley are some of my favorite people on this entire planet! First off, when Sarah smiles I literally cannot just feel overcome with joy! Secondly, every time Wesley looked at his future wife it reminded me of what every woman dreams of in a man! They are two of the sweetest most genuine people who you just love to be around. We were so honored to be chosen to tell their Love Story and spend the day with them, their family, and guest! I cannot wait to see where their journey takes them on this wild ride of life, all I know is they will most definitely be doing it together! Congratulations Wesley and Sarah, you two are AWESOME!!
